The 2011 program theme is Genes to Biology. All submissions describing new and ongoing research that has not been published at the time of submission are welcome. Individual or group proposals should be submitted electronically.
All submissions will be peer reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee. Submissions will be evaluated for content, quality, and appropriateness to overall conference priorities.
In addition to the Individual Oral presentations, the Education Sessions have been an increasingly popular component of the World Congress. Aimed at a broad audience, these sessions have covered fundamental concepts such as genetic association analysis, clinical phenotype assessment, and study design. At WCPG 2011, we are:
- Expanding the focus of the Education Sessions in a way that will appeal to clinicians who may have little prior knowledge of genetics.
- Calling on the membership to submit ideas and speaker suggestions for Education Sessions. A title and brief abstract are all that is needed at submission, along with a commitment to lead (or present) your proposed session if it is selected for presentation (note that submissions for this category has been extended to February 7).
As in the past, all Education Sessions will take place on the first day of the meeting, which will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2011.
Featured Topics Include:
- Translating genetic discoveries into a better biological understanding of mental illness
- Strategies for funding your research
- More personalized treatment informed by genetics
- Future directions for the next generation of clinical care and psychiatric research
- Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues (ELSI)
Abstract Submission Categories:
- Symposia/Educational Sessions Proposals
- Individual Oral and Poster Presentations
